BIO :  Birthmark were formed in 2001 in Athens, Greece.Their members are singer Adamantine, guitarist Argy, drummer Elias, guitarist Kostis, bassist Mampre and violinist Panagiotis.

 After forming a solid sound the band went on to performing live gigs around Greece playing with several bands and constantly rehearsing new material with the name anima. Their sound is melodic, hard rockin and  has a wide range of influences.

 In 2004, after wining the first prize at a music contest they managed to get an album contract deal with v2 records. Their album is consisted of 9 tracks. ”Product of black days’ was recorded, mixed and produced by the band itself who, during the time of recording their album, had to change their name , as to the band’s surprise a Greek band from Nafplio with the name anima had already previously released an album in the past.

The name birthmark was taken from a Deftones song and the band considered it to be a great way of expressing the way they feel about playing music. For them, it is something carved to the heart, a part of their existence, like a birthmark.

The band is already preparing new stuff for their second album! Birthmark’s first album ‘product of black days’ will be released within the next few months by v2 records.
