BIO
:
The earthbound were formed in 1998 by six
members of other known athenian bands (Last
drive , honeydive , Rockin' Bones , Engine-V ,
Invisible Surfers and Spacecakes). Combining
their varied influences from surf instrumentals
, blues and rock to funk and reggae , they
shaped their personal sound through many live
appearances , one of which was at Rockwave
festival 1999.
That was the same year that the earthbound
released their first 7" single The
Valley/Riverside song/Tercera Cancion
in collaboration with Fractal Press fanzine. In
November of '99 they started recording their
first album , which was released in 2000 from
Trade records. The album was produced by Jim
Spliff and many friend musicians contributed in
the 13 tracks of the release.

In
2001 , they enter the studio to write and record
the music for the soundtrack of Stakaman (Greek:ΣΤΑΚΑΜΑΝ)
by Antonis Kafetzopoulos. This album ,
containing 14 tracks , was again released by
Trade Records. During 2001 two member of the
band (Alex K. , Thanos A.) composed the music
for the movie Sose me (Greek:ΣΩΣΕ
ΜΕ) by Stratos Tzitzis which saw a
release in late 2001.
In
2002 the band participated in the campaign "One
school for Chiapas" giving live shows
in Athens and Thessaloniki, while next year they
appear in the Thessaloniki protest
manifestations.
September of 2003 Luis becomes the 7th member in
trumpet and percussion and in 2004 the band
signs a deal with Sirius , Manos Hatzidakis
record company. During spring of the same year
they begin recordings of their third album ,
Brotherhood of the Dog , which was released in
November of the same year. It consists of 11
tracks , once more produced by Jim Spliff and is
considered as their most complete work up until
now.
In
2005 the Earthbound gave a couple of concerts in
Cyprus and added yet another trumpeter, John.
Many live appearances followed all over Greece
and established their fame as a great live
group.
